In 2005, several families began meeting for a Bible study in Ocala with the assistance of Creekside Community Church in Gainesville. The families decided to become a new church that September and began meeting for worship on Sunday evenings. The church had its first Sunday morning service in January 2006. In January of 2007, Christ Community Church hired its first pastor, Jim Folk. In July 2008, Christ Community Church moved to its current location on Dogwood Rd. In March of 2009, Christ Community Church received full affiliation with the Evangelical Free Church of America.

In June of 2018, Nathan Rice became the second pastor of Christ Community Church. Pastor Nathan is a native of Dallas, Texas and a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary. He has a deep love of the Bible and loves to study and share its life-giving truths with anyone that will listen! Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife Camilla and their three sons: Nathaniel, Samuel, and Matthew. He also enjoys visiting beaches, theme parks, and quality time together with friends.
